How Stars and Planets Form

Dr Steve Strom’s presentation will cover the formation of stars and planetary systems. Using that as a theme, he will integrate what we've learned from the Hubble Space telescope, the Spitzer Space Telescope and a variety of large ground-based facilities, with what we expect to learn from facilities (space and ground) now on the drawing board. The presentations will include images from the Hubble and the Spitzer Space Telescopes.

Elizabeth gives presentations quite regularly, and has a fun discussion about installing Smart Gardens and Energy Gardens which are becoming popular, even on the smallest of properties. She thinks humanists might have great interest in such a topic, as designing these places helps people "get off the grid" as much as possible with their living spaces and lifestyles.
