Explanation and Understanding, Part 2

Part Two of a presentation on “Explanation and Understanding in Science”. Laurent Beauregard points to a key feature of what Albert Einstein achieved in the early 20^th century in the Theory of Special Relativity. The result was an explanation that went beyond Newton in a singularly interesting way. Hint: magnetism was involved. Laurent holds an M.S. in physics and a Ph.D. in the history and philosophy of science.
